Chief Thoma was invited by Senator Kim Ward to come out to the Rescue Fire Company in Dauphin County and witness Governer Corbett sign the Grant Program’s Extension. This program enables fire departments to apply and recieve grant money for a number of things that help Volunteer Fire Departments operate. (more…)
Adamsburg, High Park, and Carbon VFD, gathered at the Hanson Asphalt Plant in our first due for a Technical Rescue Drill. Volunteers responded to a report of an injured person at the top of a 75 ft. silo. Quint and Rescue 10 arrived and were assigned patient size up, packaging, and preparation. (more…)
ACVFD Members Monthly Training Session, This Month Is Rope Rescue VIA Stokes Basket. The ACVFD would like to thank Michael Kaplan from West Deer VFD #3 for providing his time to help the volunteers learn and practice our rope skills. ACVFD attended the 17th Annual Hempfield-Greensburg Fire Prevention night at Westmoreland Mall on Tuesday, October 10th. Rescue 10, Quint 10 and Gator 10 along with its support trailer, were all put on display in the parking lot for residents to view. (more…)
