Rescue Company 10’s flag ship is Rescue 10 which is a 2003 KME Rescue. Rescue 10 has a complete line of Hurst hydraulic rescue tools known as the “Jaws of Life.” Rescue 10 also has rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, rapid intervention, and structural collapse rescue equipment. Rescue 10 is equipped with a 250 GPM pump and 300 gallons of water. It has a 30 kilowatt generator and a light tower. Adamsburg Firefighters go through continuous training in advanced rescue practices. The A.C.V.F.D. has recently added a new high strength set of Hurst Cutters, the JL-500 cutters, featuring the ability to cut 1 3/8″ steel bar and nearly every new metal put into motor vehicles. With this addition the Rescue Truck will keep up with advances in Motor Vehicle Construction.
Rescue 10 was the FIRST rescue truck in Westmoreland County to be certified as an ADVANCED RESCUE by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Volunteer Rescue Service Recognition Program.
