9/11/01

Adamsburg and Community VFD would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and condolences to all the families and friends who lost a loved one on 9/11/01. We at the ACVFD would like to remind you to never forget the events on that day. These men and women did not think twice about risking their lives to help others and paid the ultimate price. For that we ask that you remember what they did and what your local Emergency Services will do for you. Posted are a few pictures that captured the events of that day. Below is a link to the names and companies of each of the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives that day.

A prayer for the fallen

Fallen
Rest now my fallen brother
Lay soft your suffering back
Rest well and forever
Your memory shall not lack
Rest your tired hands
Wipe clean your weary brow
Rest with St. Florian
Your spirit now endowed
Rest here your breaking heart
We know you gave your all
Rest easy, you’ve done your part
You’ve answered your last call
Rest knowing that in god we sought
Oh lord, watch over another who just fell
Rest assured your troubled thought
As we ring the final bell.

ATV Operations Class

img950972

This past weekend Members of Adamsburg, High Park VFD, and Rescue 14 participated in an ATV operations class. The class consisted of a few hours of instruction in the classroom and then practical operations using a course set up in a field. Firefighters trained and tested on our quad and UTV in the 32 degree weather with mild snow conditions. We would like to thank the instructor for coming out on this cold day to help train us as well as High Park VFD for the use of their grounds. Attached are some pictures of the class.  (more…)

ACVFD adds additional ATV to expand services

Throughout the last year the ACVFD has sought out donations and other forms of funding to expand our off-road firefighting and rescue capability. On July 27th ACVFD took delivery of a Yamaha Kodiak 4WD Quad. This new ATV gives ACVFD an additional off road capable vehicle, quick scouting ability, and additional firefighting/rescue capabilities when working on our roughest terrain. ACVFD would like to thank Hillview Motorsports and the many entities who have donated to this project.

The day started with a working fire in an exterior wall on Rocky Mountain Rd, in our first due. The Station cleared for this and knocked down a small fire in a wall behind a chimney. (more…)

Hempfield Community Days

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT SUPPORTED ADAMSBURG VFD

Adamsburg VFD spent Saturday and Sunday at The Hempfield Community Days selling Fresh Cut French Fries, but that’s not all we did, we also assisted the Hempfield Emergency Management Agency  with our 6×4 J0hn Deere Trail-Gator for both Medical and Fire duties. Gator 10 Responded to a Electrical Motor Fire alongside North Hempfield VFD ST.65 which was able to be extinguished in a timely manner preventing further issues.

Volunteers cooked many pounds of french fries, handled the EMS for the event, participated in a successful softball win over the Excela Health Team, and successfully sold out all of our potatoes!!!

Your support through these events help the ACVFD provide a high level of service and a top notch level of equipment. Look out for our next events in the near future!
