The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department assisted in instructing the Westmoreland County Community College – EMT Class during their Motor Vehicle Collision and Rescue Module. Students learned how to treat patients that have been involved in a MVC and are still within the vehicle. During the class the students got introduced to the different tools used by Rescue Companies to extricate patients that are entrapped within their vehicles. The students saw how a successful vehicle rescue can make treatment of a patient easier.

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department along with Penn Township Ambulance and North Huntingdon Rescue 8 participated in a rope rescue and rigging class.  This skill allows rescuers to rescue patients that may be below grade and need “hauled” or lifted to a higher elevation.  (more…)

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department assisted the protective services class at the  CWCTC with rescue operations.  The students in this program learn many different aspects of public safety including fire fighting, emergency medical services, and police services.  (more…)

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Westmoreland County Community Collage  for a second day with a special class dealing with Bus Rescues.  Students learned how to handle special situations that may arise when dealing with a bus that is involved in an incident.
