Station 10 and the first alarm assignment were sent to Railroad St. in Arona Borough for a Report of a Chimney Fire. Chief 10 arrived to find normal conditions from the exterior of the residence. The resident reported smoke coming from cracks in the chimney. Chief 10 requested the Quint into the scene and to put its ladder to the roof. Engine 15 was given the hydrant assignment. All other units were requested to stage in various areas and send their crews to the scene. Firefighters checked all floors of the house for any possible extension, removed and extinguished what was left of the fire in the firebox, and used “chimney chains” to remove the burning material from the chimney lining. Units assisting on this incident included Engines 104, 2, 18, 15, Service 104 along with all of the apparatus from ACVFD with the exception of the trailer. Special Thanks to Station 61, HighPark, for picking up the standby as all of our apparatus were tied up.
