Winter Storm MVC with Entrapment 12-402

Rescue 10, Rescue 2 and Station 320 were activated into 61 district for a MVC with entrapment with pole and wires down.  Chief 61 arrived with Rescue 61 and reported a salt truck had sheared a power pole and the driver was unable to get out of the vehicle due to the possibility of live wire in contact with the truck. A WPPCO representative arrived and deemed the situation safe for the driver to move the truck away from the pole. Mutual Aid companies assisted Station 61 with traffic control until released

12-400 Smoke In The Structure

Quint 10 was activated to respond into Strawpump Station 2 District (first due) for reported smoke in the structure. Chief 10 arrived and was informed that work was done to the furnace during the previous day. Quint 10 was sent to the front and Engine 3 to the rear to ladder the roof and investigate roof top air handlers. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and ordered Quint 10 to ladder the roof to assist with investigation of roof top air handlers. Rescue 2 crews investigated inside equipment for a possible source. The problem appears to have been caused by an issue with maintenance that was performed earlier on the furnace, there was no fire. (more…)

Winter Storm Crash

The Volunteers at the ACVFD staffed the Station for the duration of the winter storm. The firefighters answered 2 calls during the day. For the first call, the Rescue truck was requested to Arona rd. for an MVC with injuries assisting Station 104 (Fort Allen). Attached are some pictures of that incident. (more…)

RIT Response Westec Dr.

While out on an Accident on the Turnpike, Rescue 10 responded for the RIT to Westec Dr. in 28’s (Midway/St. Clair) first due. Rescue 10 arrived and set up initial RIT at the Alpha/Bravo Corner of the structure. Rescue 104 arrived as part of the township RIT team and staged in the same area bringing their crew to RIT staging. (more…)

Rt 30 Accident With Fire

Rescue 10 was requested to Rt. 30 at Possum Hollow Rd. for a report of Vehicle Accident with Ejection. Units on-scene reported a working vehicle fire with negative entraptment. Rescue 10 assisted High Park with traffic control and clean up operations. (more…)
