A few hours after the Pittsburgh Penguins won their 4th Stanley Cup. The Rescue along with Rescue 61 and 15 responded to Darragh-Herminie Road for a reported crash involving a single vehicle. (more…)

Volunteers Answer 9 Calls In 18 Hours

Saturday May 28th proved to be a busy day for the Volunteers. Adamsburg and High Park firefighters, with our combined response plan, responded to 2 reported fires, 1 Smoke Condition, 2 Crashes, 1 Fire Alarm Sounding, 1 Tree Removal, 1 Ems Assist and a Natural Gas Emergency. The day started with an EMS assist. (Engine 10 and Rescue 61 responded) The department then responded to Broker’s Lane for a smoke condition and found an appliance issue, the Quint, Engine, Rescue, Engine 61, Squad 61 and Vent 500 Responded. The Quint, Rescue, Engine 61 and Vent 500 responded to Semler Street in Grapeville for the working structure fire. Crews completed overhaul, hydrant,  and RIT assignments. The Quint and Engine 61 responded to assist Strawpump with an alarm sounding, but were canceled en-route. While responding to the alarm, the department was notified of a tree removal call, the Service responded to that. The Rescue, Rescue 61 and Squad 61 then responded to Fort Allen’s First Due for a motorcycle accident. The night proved to be no less busy. Rescue 10 was added to a tractor trailer crash with entrapment assisting Station 2 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Westbound Exit 67 off ramp. The Engine also responded to the crash, Rescue 61 added on later from our station for additional personnel. The Rescue, Engine, and Rescue 61 responded and operated for 2 hours to free the heavily trapped driver. While operating on this crash, The Quint and Rescue 61 (before being added to the crash) responded to a Reported House fire on Edna Rd, which ended up being a good intent call. The Quint also responded to an Natural Gas Emergency in Westmoreland City’s first due, this incident would mark the last call for the day.

Brush Creek Road Crash


Station’s 10 and 61 responded to Brush Creek Rd. in the area of the cemetary for reported vehicle into the woods. Chief 10 arrived to find 1 vehicle over an embankment into a culvert. (more…)

Busy Weekend For ACVFD


Firefighters from ACVFD answered 7 Calls in 14 hours on Saturday. The Volunteers responded to 5 fire alarms, 1 utility issue, and ended with a large Brush Fire in Fort Allen’s first due. Station 104 and their first alarm assignment responded to reported brush fire endangering a building. Units arrived to find a well involved brush fire that had extended into a wooded area. Access to the brushfire was hindered by the terrain. Command requested several brush trucks and ATV’s. This added our Trailgator to the assignment. (more…)

Station Clears for a Report of Smoke In The Structure
