10-0257 :: Residential Structure fire

Date: 07-18-2010
Location: Wendel Road, Hempfield Township 

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported residential Structure fire on Wendel Road at approximately 2:00 am.  Upon arrival of the first engine company ,Engine 15 (Hermine VFD), they found a two story residential structure with fire in the first and second story.  It was immediately determined the house was vacant, so a defensive stance was taken.  The two neighboring residences were close to the structure so intial priority was to keep the fire from spreading and damaging the neighboring structures.  Minor water damage occurred to the neighboring structures.

10-0032 :: Structure Fire

Location: Highland Ave, Hempfield Township 

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported bedroom fire in a multi-family apartment complex.  Upon arrival crews found a fire in the second story bedroom of one of the apartments.  While there were initial reports of the occupants being trapped in the building, upon arrival of the fire department, everyone was found to be out of the apartment.  First crews onscene intiated an attack on the fire while additional arriving crews evacuated the other apartments within the building.  A quick response kept damage to a minimum and confined to only one apartment. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hempfield Township Fire Marshall.

10-0017 :: Apartment Complex Fire

Location: Lenhart Avenue, Hempfield Township

10-0010 :: Residential Structure Fire

Location: Pond Lane, Hempfield Township 

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire that started as a chimney fire.  Quint 10 was added to the alarm as an additional ladder truck. Snow fall that evening had covered all the roadways used to respond to the scene.  To insure the safety of the firefighters, responding units had to use caution driving on the snow covered roadways. 

Upon arrival crews found the roof and attic of the residence on fire.  (more…)

09-0300 :: Kitchen Fire

Date: 10-10-09
Location: Main Street, Adamsburg

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire. Upon arrival crews entered the apartment building and found a grease fire that the occupant prior to arrival. Upon further investigation it was found that there was no working smoke detectors in the apartment building. The building housed a total of 5 apartments. ACVFD firefighters installed 5 smoke and fire detectors in the apartment building.

FPW2009 :: SAM’s Club

Location: SAM’s Club, Route 30, Hempfield Township

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department Participated in a fire department showcase at SAM’s Club on Route 30 in Hempfield Township.  Quint 10 was on display for spectators see.  Their was a rescue demonstration performed.
