Station 10 and the first alarm Assignment were sent to Blackberry Rd. for the Reported House Fire. Medic 322 arrived to find a working fire on the second division. With this information, the balance of the alarm and a tanker alarm were requested, as the closest hydrant was a long lay. The initial alarm included Station 10, Engines 2, 61, 13. Engine 2-1, the Quint and Engine went into the scene with the remainder involved in water supply and personnel staging. (more…)
Quint 10 was activated to respond into Carbon 23 District for a tractor trailer fire endangering a structure. The tractor trailer was inside a refueling center filling up the trailer with propane when the cab of the truck caught on fire. Thankfully, the fast response of the fire departments kept the fire to the cab of the truck and did not catch the trailer or structure on fire. Great Job To All, Everyone went home safe. (more…)
Quint 10 was activated to respond into Strawpump Station 2 District (first due) for reported smoke in the structure. Chief 10 arrived and was informed that work was done to the furnace during the previous day. Quint 10 was sent to the front and Engine 3 to the rear to ladder the roof and investigate roof top air handlers. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and ordered Quint 10 to ladder the roof to assist with investigation of roof top air handlers. Rescue 2 crews investigated inside equipment for a possible source. The problem appears to have been caused by an issue with maintenance that was performed earlier on the furnace, there was no fire. (more…)
Station 10 and the first alarm assignment were sent to Railroad St. in Arona Borough for a Report of a Chimney Fire. Chief 10 arrived to find normal conditions from the exterior of the residence. The resident reported smoke coming from cracks in the chimney. (more…)
ACVFD attended the 17th Annual Hempfield-Greensburg Fire Prevention night at Westmoreland Mall on Tuesday, October 10th. Rescue 10, Quint 10 and Gator 10 along with its support trailer, were all put on display in the parking lot for residents to view. (more…)
Quint 10 and Rescue 10 went to Home Depot for their annual Fire Prevention Day. The trucks were put on display for residents to view. Rescue 10 assisted Station 21 with putting on a vehicle rescue demonstration. (more…)
