The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department‘s first scheduled training of the year is a Basic Vehicle Rescue Course.  This class is broken up into three separate sections, awareness, operations and technician.  Today was the second day of the awareness class.

During this class students are taught the basic principals of vehicle rescue.  The students learned proper practices for when they first arrive on scene of a motor vehicle collision.  They also learned how to stabilize a vehicle to keep it from moving.  The students practiced this skill on many different scenarios ranging from vehicles on all four wheels, to vehicles that were upside down on-top of another vehicle.  Next the students learned proper removal technique to extricate a patient from a collision without causing additional injury or harm.

Fire Departments from around the county sent firefighters to participate in this class.
