Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported residential Structure fire on Wendel Road at approximately 2:00 am. Upon arrival of the first engine company ,Engine 15 (Hermine VFD), they found a two story residential structure with fire in the first and second story. It was immediately determined the house was vacant, so a defensive stance was taken. The two neighboring residences were close to the structure so intial priority was to keep the fire from spreading and damaging the neighboring structures. Minor water damage occurred to the neighboring structures.
Hempfield Township Public Works was called to raze the building after the fire was extinguished due to the damaged structure casing a significant safety hazard.
