Annual Fire Prevention Visits

In the past 2 weeks Adamsburg and Community VFD has participated in many events to stress the importance of fire safety. Firefighters have visited the Fire Prevention Event at Westmoreland Mall, where Engine 10 was displayed for everyone to see. Our Firefighters also visited West Hempfield Elementary School and West Hempfield Presbyterian Church Pre-School to discuss the importance of fire safety, stressing escape plans, Stop Drop and Roll, general fire safety, and closing your bedroom door at night. We also take the time to show the children what we look like fully dressed out, this helps to familiarize them with how we look and to seek us out should we be trying to help them. The School visit ended with a walk around of our Quint and Rescue. Troop 257 also stopped by our station, firefighters gave them a presentation on the proper use of Fire Extinguishers as well as Stop, Drop, and Roll.
We take pride in conducting these events, it gives us a great opportunity to spread the Fire Safety Message and interact with the community.
