Violent Storm Hits Adamsburg

Service 10, Squad 10, Quint 10,  Rescue 10, Engine 10, responded to calls for assistance by residence of Hempfield Twp and Arona Boro during the severe weather disaster that damaged houses and businesses and injured several residents.  Gator 10 responded to a victim trapped in a RV. The patient was extricated by crews from Adamsburg, Irwin, and Penn Township Ambulance,  under very trying circumstances   Gator 10 was able to support the crews by transporting equipment and man power to the scene, Gator 10 then transported the victim to the waiting Ambulance that was unable to gain access to the scene.

We are proud of the Adamsburg members who responded to over 50 calls for help during and after the storm.

Adamsburg VFD could not do this alone and we requested assistance from our neighbors. They responded without hesitation during this volatile situation. We were assisted by neighboring Volunteer Fire Departments including Strawpump,Yukon, Sutersville,  Lowber, Irwin, Midway- St. Clair, Westmoreland City, Herminie, High Park, Madison, Fairmont-Hahntown along with Rescue 14 EMS, Rescue 6 EMS, Hempfield EMA (and their volunteers), during this violent storm. We also thank the Salvation Army and Hempfield School District for allowing us to use the elementary school as a staging and refreshment area.  Hempfield Public Works, PennDot and Allegheny Power for their response to help get roads open and clear wires.
