09-0313 :: MVC with Entrapment

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment.  Upon arrival we  found one vehicle that had struck multiple houses and a telephone pole prior to coming to a stop between two houses.  One person was still entrapped in the vehicle with power lines down on the vehicle.  (more…)

Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department firefighter and engine driver Rick Smith (above left) helps Jason Fait, the station’s fire prevention educator and program director, outfit West Hempfield Elementary School kindergartner Noah Zadroga, 5, in full survival gear Thursday. 09-0300 :: Kitchen Fire

Location: Main Street, Adamsburg

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire. Upon arrival crews entered the apartment building and found a grease fire that the occupant prior to arrival. Upon further investigation it was found that there was no working smoke detectors in the apartment building. The building housed a total of 5 apartments. ACVFD firefighters installed 5 smoke and fire detectors in the apartment building.

FPW2009 :: SAM’s Club

Location: SAM’s Club, Route 30, Hempfield Township

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department Participated in a fire department showcase at SAM’s Club on Route 30 in Hempfield Township.  Quint 10 was on display for spectators see.  Their was a rescue demonstration performed. 

Training :: Bus Rescue Class Day 2

Location: Asphalt Lane, Hempfield Township

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Westmoreland County Community Collage  for a second day with a special class dealing with Bus Rescues.  Students learned how to handle special situations that may arise when dealing with a bus that is involved in an incident. 

09-0297 :: Structure Fire

Location: Millersdale Road, Hempfield Township

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Millersdale Road assisting High Park Fire department.  Upon arrival firefighters found a trailer on fire.  Firefighters extinguished the fire with an exterior attack due to conditions upon arrival being unsafe for firefighters to enter the trailer.  (more…)
